coupon downloader

What is coupon downloader?

This adware web browser add-on injects advertising in the user's Internet browser by running as an extension and/or add-on. Ads are delivered in the form of coupons displayed on a web page, shopping comparison, in-text and new tab advertisements. It will communicate several times a day with its servers to check for and download new offers, the placement of offers, the web pages a user views and the ads that are clicked on as well as sends computer information to Adpeak's Coupon Downloader server.

From the EULA: "The Toolbar monitors and records the ways in which you use your computer and the websites you visit so that: (i) you can receive targeted advertisements. Displaying advertisements, including without limitation by inserting into web pages, shopping comparison, in-text transitional, in-text link advertisements and coupons that would not otherwise appear."

This application is classified as adware and/or a PUP based on its behavior. The software is distributed through third party installers.
