Rockettab
from Rich River Media, LLC
What is Rockettab?
RocketTab is an adware program that injects advertising in the user's web browser by creating a local proxy server and routing all Internet traffic through that proxy. By re-routing traffic the service will be able to include various ads in the HTML of the displaying web page. It does this through it's 'BrowserSafeguard' feature which Adknowledge claims is designed to protect the web browser from threats. BrowserSafeguard is included as part of the RocketTab program through a co-installation. On the website it says that "RocketTab is supported via text advertising" and will then inject various text-links and banner ads as well as other ad formats in the browser on pages that are not owned, operated or associated by the software. The program is distributed by Adknowledge, Inc.
