VAIO Update 2
What is VAIO Update 2?
VAIO Update 2 is the update program which runs on the PC and checks for updates and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates. The program is primarily designed to keep the software up to date or provide product patches if required. In addition to releasing new versions of the software at regular intervals, the update program can provide additional information to the user. Users can choose a different schedule, or check manually if they don’t have a continuous Internet connection. If it finds an item to download, it will download and install the new update.
Overview
Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is vaioupdt.exe. The software installer includes 7 files and is usually about 635.12 KB (650,362 bytes).
